What should I expect?

  • During your initial session, it's normal to feel a bit nervous. The session will start with some casual conversation about hobbies and interests before discussing what's going on in your life and your counselling goals. If you're having trouble articulating your feelings, that's okay—I'm here to help you navigate through it.

How often will I need to attend sessions?

  • Therapy is deeply personal and tailored to your specific needs and goals. We strive to keep sessions to a minimum, regularly assessing progress through communication and observation. When appropriate, we'll collaboratively decide on concluding therapy, possibly transitioning to maintenance sessions for periodic check-ins.

How confidential are the sessions?

  • Therapy sessions are highly confidential. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy, and therapists are legally and ethically bound to keep your information private. However, there are some exceptions, such as if the therapist believes there is a risk of harm to you or others, or if required by law (e.g., reporting child abuse). It's essential to discuss confidentiality with your therapist to understand the limits and any exceptions in your specific situation.
